We had 14 colleagues converge on us last night for a night of good food, too much talking, and far too late a night. I did skulk off at about 1:30 and heard the bunch still carrying on until nearing daylight. Then we all gathered in the silly string of Protons (our cars) and headed to the waterfalls nearby. A beautiful setting and the trip felt much like the roads on Vancouver Island,. Deep in a rainforest we were pleasantly enveloped in steamy heat and the slight roar of the falls. We managed to capture a cobra eating a smaller snake, so hopefully I will get that uploaded in the next few days. Now home again, I am going to try to sneak away for a nap because this moving around in a clump is very tiring. Here is a picture of the falls near the top. There are red flags to alert patrons to get out or be prepared for flash floods spewing into the falls, which seem to happen frequently. Spotters are stationed higher and further back of the falls to monitor the downpours that affect the water flow.
from the last few days in Canada and forward, you can join me in my thoughts and actions as I learn how to live in a country that I had not even known the exact location until Ryan was there a few years ago. Some days I have rants and other days I have adventures, but every day is a learning experience that I embrace and thank God I was given the opportunity to know and to be. I might even upload a picture of me in this place I now call home – for now.
